ወደ ቲቶ 1 : 1 - 11

የእግዚአብሔር ባሪያና የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ሐዋርያ የሆነ ጳውሎስ፥ በእግዚአብሔር ለተመረጡት እምነት እንዲሆንላቸው በዘላለምም ሕይወት ተስፋ እንደ አምልኮት ያለውን እውነት እንዲያውቁ የተላከ፤ ስለዚህም ሕይወት የማይዋሽ እግዚአብሔር ከዘላለም ዘመናት በፊት ተስፋ ሰጠ፥ በዘመኑም ጊዜ፥ መድኃኒታችን እግዚአብሔር እንዳዘዘ፥ ለእኔ አደራ በተሰጠኝ ስብከት ቃሉን ገለጠ፤ በሃይማኖት ኅብረት እውነተኛ ልጄ ለሚሆን ለቲቶ፤ ከእግዚአብሔር አብ ከመድኃኒታችንም ከጌታ ከኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋና ምሕረት ሰላምም ይሁን። ስለዚህ ምክንያት የቀረውን እንድታደራጅ በየከተማውም፥ እኔ አንተን እንዳዘዝሁ፥ ሽማግሌዎችን እንድትሾም በቀርጤስ ተውሁህ፤ የማይነቀፍና የአንዲት ሚስት ባል የሚሆን፥ የሚያምኑም ልጆች ያሉት፥ ስለ መዳራትም ወይም ስለ አለመታዘዝ የማይከሰስ ማንም ቢኖር፥ ሹመው። ኤጲስ ቆጶስ፥ እንደ እግዚአብሔር መጋቢ፥ የማይነቀፍ ሊሆን ይገባዋልና፤ የማይኮራ፥ የማይቆጣ፥ የማይሰክር፥ የማይጨቃጨቅ፥ ነውረኛ ረብ የማይወድ፥ ነገር ግን እንግዳ ተቀባይ፥ በጎ የሆነውን ነገር የሚወድ፥ ጠንቃቃ፥ ጻድቅ፥ ቅዱስ፥ ራሱን የሚገዛ ይሁን፤ ሕይወት በሚገኝበት ትምህርት ደግሞ ሊመክር ተቃዋሚዎቹንም ሊወቅስ ይችል ዘንድ፥ እንደተማረው በታመነ ቃል ይጽና። የማይታዘዙና ከንቱ የሚናገሩ የሚያታልሉ ይልቁንም ከተገረዙት ወገን የሚሆኑ ብዙ ናቸውና፤ እነዚህም ስለ ነውረኛ ረብ የማይገባውን እያስተማሩ ቤቶችን በሞላው ስለ ሚገለብጡ፥ አፋቸውን መዝጋት ይገባል።

2ኛ የጴጥሮስ መልእክት 3 : 6 - 37

በዚህም ምክንያት ያን ጊዜ የነበረ ዓለም በውኃ ሰጥሞ ጠፋ፤ አሁን ያሉ ሰማያትና ምድር ግን እግዚአብሔርን የማያመልኩት ሰዎች እስከሚጠፉበት እስከ ፍርድ ቀን ድረስ ተጠብቀው በዚያ ቃል ለእሳት ቀርተዋል። እናንተ ግን ወዳጆች ሆይ፥ በጌታ ዘንድ አንድ ቀን እንደ ሺህ ዓመት፥ ሺህ ዓመትም እንደ አንድ ቀን እንደ ሆነ ይህን አንድ ነገር አትርሱ። ለአንዳንዶች የሚዘገይ እንደሚመስላቸው ጌታ ስለ ተስፋ ቃሉ አይዘገይም፥ ነገር ግን ሁሉ ወደ ንስሐ እንዲደርሱ እንጂ ማንም እንዳይጠፋ ወዶ ስለ እናንተ ይታገሣል። የጌታው ቀን ግን እንደ ሌባ ሆኖ ይመጣል፤ በዚያም ቀን ሰማያት በታላቅ ድምፅ ያልፋሉ፥ የሰማይም ፍጥረት በትልቅ ትኵሳት ይቀልጣል፥ ምድርም በእርስዋም ላይ የተደረገው ሁሉ ይቃጠላል። ይህ ሁሉ እንዲህ የሚቀልጥ ከሆነ፥ የእግዚአብሔርን ቀን መምጣት እየጠበቃችሁና እያስቸኰላችሁ፥ በቅዱስ ኑሮ እግዚአብሔርንም በመምሰል እንደ ምን ልትሆኑ ይገባችኋል? ስለዚያ ቀን ሰማያት ተቃጥለው ይቀልጣሉ የሰማይም ፍጥረት በትልቅ ትኵሳት ይፈታል፤ ነገር ግን ጽድቅ የሚኖርባትን አዲስ ሰማይና አዲስ ምድር እንደ ተስፋ ቃሉ እንጠብቃለን። ስለዚህ፥ ወዳጆች ሆይ፥ ይህን እየጠበቃችሁ ያለ ነውርና ያለ ነቀፋ ሆናችሁ በሰላም በእርሱ እንድትገኙ ትጉ፥ የጌታችንም ትዕግሥት መዳናችሁ እንደ ሆነ ቍጠሩ። እንዲህም የተወደደው ወንድማችን ጳውሎስ ደግሞ እንደ ተሰጠው ጥበብ መጠን ጻፈላችሁ፥ በመልእክቱም ሁሉ ደግሞ እንደ ነገረ ስለዚህ ነገር ተናገረ። በእነዚያ ዘንድ ለማስተዋል የሚያስቸግር ነገር አለ፥ ያልተማሩትና የማይጸኑትም ሰዎች ሌሎችን መጻሕፍት እንደሚያጣምሙ እነዚህን ደግሞ ለገዛ ጥፋታቸው ያጣምማሉ። እንግዲህ እናንተ፥ ወዳጆች ሆይ፥ ይህን አስቀድማችሁ ስለምታውቁ፥ በዓመፀኞቹ ስሕተት ተስባችሁ ከራሳችሁ ጽናት እንዳትወድቁ ተጠንቀቁ፤ ነገር ግን በጌታችንና በመድኃኒታችን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋና እውቀት እደጉ። ለእርሱ አሁንም እስከ ዘላለምም ቀን ድረስ ክብር ይሁን፤ አሜን።

መዝሙረ ዳዊት 110 : 10 - 10

የጥበብ መጀመሪያ እግዚአብሔርን መፍራት ነው፥ ለሚያደርጓትም ሁሉ ደኅና ማስተዋል አላቸው፤ ምስጋናውም ለዘላለም ይኖራል።

የሉቃስ ወንጌል 10 : 1 - 12

ከዚህም በኋላ ጌታ ሌሎቹን ሰብዓ ሾመ፥ ሁለት ሁለትም አድርጎ እርሱ ሊሄድበት ወዳለው ከተማና ስፍራ ሁሉ በፊቱ ላካቸው። አላቸውም፡— መከሩስ ብዙ ነው፥ ሠራተኞች ግን ጥቂቶች ናቸው፤ እንግዴህ የመከሩን ጌታ ለመከሩ ሠራተኞች እንዲልክ ለምኑት። ሂዱ፤ እነሆ፥ እንደ በጎች በተኵላዎች መካከል እልካችኋለሁ። ኮረጆም ከረጢትም ጫማም አትያዙ፤ በመንገድም ለማንም እጅ አትንሡ። ወደምትገቡበት ቤት ሁሉ አስቀድማችሁ፡— ሰላም ለዚህ ቤት ይሁን በሉ። በዚያም የሰላም ልጅ ቢኖር፥ ሰላማችሁ ያድርበታል፤ አለዚያም ይመለስላችኋል። በዚያም ቤት ከእነርሱ ዘንድ ካለው እየበላችሁና እየጠጣችሁ ተቀመጡ፤ ለሠራተኛ ደመወዙ ይገባዋልና። ከቤት ወደ ቤት አትተላለፉ። ወደምትገቡባትም ከተማ ሁሉ ቢቀበሉአችሁ፥ ያቀረቡላችሁን ብሉ፤ በእርስዋም ያሉትን ድውዮችን ፈውሱና፡— የእግዚአብሔር መንግሥት ወደ እናንተ ቀረበች በሉአቸው። ነገር ግን ወደምትገቡባት ከተማ ሁሉ ባይቀበሉአችሁ፥ ወደ አደባባይዋ ወጥታችሁ። ከከተማችሁ የተጣበቀብንን ትቢያ እንኳን እናራግፍላችኋለን፤ የእግዚአብሔር መንግሥት ግን ወደ እናንተ እንደ ቀረበች ይህን እወቁ በሉ። እላችኋለሁ፥ በዚያን ቀን ከዚያች ከተማ ይልቅ ለሰዶም ይቀልላታል።

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; 4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. 5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: 6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. 10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

2 Peter 3 : 6 - 37

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. 6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. 8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

††† እንኳን ለቅዱስ ቲቶ ሐዋርያ ዓመታዊ የዕረፍት በዓል በሰላም አደረሳችሁ፤ አደረሰን። ††† ††† በስመ አብ ወወልድ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ አሐዱ አምላክ አሜን! ††† ††† ቅዱስ ቲቶ ሐዋርያ ††† ††† የጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ደቀ መዝሙር ቅዱስ ቲቶ ከሰባ ሁለቱ አርድእት አንዱ ሲሆን በተወሰነ መንገድም ቢሆን የተዘነጋ ሐዋርያ አይደለም:: በተለይ ደግሞ ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ከጻፋቸው አሥራ አራት መልእክታት መካከል አንዷ የተላከችው ለዚህ ቅዱስ በመሆኗ ታሪኩ እንኳ ባይነገር ስሙ አይረሳም:: ቅዱስ ጳውሎስም በመልዕክታቱ በጐ ስሙን እየደጋገመ ያነሳዋል:: ለመሆኑ ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ቲቶ ማን ነው? ቅዱስ ቲቶ የተወለደው በ1ኛው መቶ ክ/ዘመን እስያ ውስጥ: ቀርጤስ በምትባል ከተማ ነው:: የዘር ሐረጉ ከእሥራኤልም: ከጽርእም (ግሪክ ለማለት ነው::) ይወለዳል:: አካባቢው አምልኮተ እግዚአብሔር የጠፋበት ስለሆነ እሱም: ቤተሰቦቹም የሚያመልኩት ከዋክብትን ነበር:: መዳን በእውቀት ይመስላቸው ስለ ነበር የአካባቢው ሰዎች የግሪክን ፍልስፍና ጠንክረው ይማሩ ነበር:: ቅዱስ ቲቶም በወጣትነቱ ወደ ት/ቤት ገብቶ የግሪክን ፍልሥፍናና የዮናናውያንን ጥበበ ሥጋ ተማረ:: በጥቂት ጊዜም የሁሉ የበላይ ሆነ:: ቅዱሱ በወቅቱ ምንም እውነተኛውን ፈጣሪ አያምልክ እንጂ በጠባዩ እጅግ ቅንና ደግ ነበር:: ምክንያቱን ሳያውቀው ለእኔ ቢጤዎች ያበላ: ያጠጣ: ይንከባከባቸውም ነበር:: እግዚአብሔር ግን የዚህ ቅን ሰው በጐነቱ እንዲሁ እንዲቀር አልወደደምና አንድ ቀን በራዕይ ተገለጠለት:: በራዕይም አንድ ምንነቱን ያልተረዳው ነገር "ቲቶ ሆይ! ስለ ነፍስህ ድኅነት ተጋደል:: ይህ ዓለም ኃላፊ ነው::" ሲለው ሰማ:: ከእንቅልፉ ነቅቶ በእጅጉ ደነገጠ:: የሚያደርገውንም አጣ:: ያናገራቸው ሁሉ ምንም ሊገባቸው አልቻለም:: ለተወሰነ ጊዜም ለጉዳዩ ምላሽ ሳያገኝለት በልቡ እየተመላለሰ ኖረ:: ድንገት ግን በዚያ ሰሞን ከወደ ኢየሩሳሌም አዲስ ዜና ተሰማ:: "ክርስቶስ የሚሉት ኢየሱስ: እርሱም የባሕርይ አምላክ የሆነ ወደ ምድር ወርዶ: ስለ እግዚአብሔር መንግስትም እየሰበከ ነው::" ሲሉ ለቲቶ ነገሩት:: "ሌላስ ምን አያችሁ?" አላቸው:: "በእጆቹ ድውያን ይፈወሳሉ:: ሙታን ይነሳሉ:: እውራን ያያሉ:: ለምጻሞች ይነጻሉ:: ሌሎች ብዙ ተአምራትም እየተደረጉ ነው::" አሉት:: የወቅቱ የሃገረ አክራጥስ መኮንን ፈላስፋ ነበርና ስለ ክርስቶስ ሲሰማ ሊመራመር ወደደ:: እርሱ መሔድ ስላልተቻለው "ብልህ ጥበበኛ ሰው ፈልጉልኝ::" ብሎ ተከታዮችን ቢልካቸው ከቲቶ የተሻለ በአካባቢው አልነበረምና እርሱኑ አመጡት:: መኮንኑ ቲቶን "ነገሩ ትክክል ወይም ስሕተት መሆኑን በጥልቅ መርምረህ ምላሽ አምጣልኝ::" ብሎ ላከው:: ቅዱስ ቲቶም ፈጥኖ ተነስቶ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ገሰገሰ:: ወደ ከተማዋ እንደገባም ጌታችንን አፈላልጐ አገኘው:: 1.ጌታችን ክርስቶስ በሥልጣነ ቃሉ ደዌያትን ሲያርቅ: አጋንንትን ሲያሳድዳቸው ተመልክቶ ይህ ሥራ የፍጡር እንዳልሆነ ተረዳ:: 2.ጌታችን የሚያስተምረው ትምሕርት ከግሪክ ፍልሥፍና እጅግ ርቆና መጥቆ አገኘው:: የግሪክ ፍልሥፍና መነሻውም ሆነ መድረሻው ሥጋዊ ነው:: ጌታ ግን በጣዕመ ቃሉ የሚያስተምረው ሰማያዊ: በዚያ ላይ ዘላለማዊ የሆነ ትምሕርት ነው:: በራዕይ "ስለ ነፍስህ ተጋደል::" ያለው ምሥጢር አሁን ተተረጐመለት:: በዚህ ምክንያትም ጊዜ አላጠፋም:: ወዲያውኑ አምኖ ተከታዩ ሆነ:: ጌታም ከሰባ ሁለቱ አርድእት ደመረው:: የአክራጥስ መኮንን "ምነው ዘገየህ?" ቢለው ያየውን ሁሉ ጽፎ: እንደማይመለስም አክሎ ደብዳቤ ላከለት:: ከዚህ በኋላ ቅዱስ ቲቶ ከጌታችን እግር ለሦስት ዓመታት ተምሮ: በበዓለ ሃምሳ መንፈስ ቅዱስን ተቀብሎ: በመላው እስያ ለስምንት ዓመታት ወንጌልን ሰብኳል:: ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ባመነ ጊዜ ደግሞ የእርሱ ደቀ መዝሙር ሆኖ ለሃያ አምስት ዓመታት አስተምሯል:: ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ ሰማዕት ከሆነ በኋላ ደግሞ ወደ አክራጥስ ተመልሶ: ሕዝቡን አሳምኖና አጥምቆ: ቤተ ክርስቲያንን አንጿል:: ዕድሜው በደረሰ ጊዜም መምሕራንን: ካህናትን ሹሞላቸው: ባርኳቸውም በዚህች ቀን ዐርፏል:: ††† አምላከ ቅዱስ ቲቶ መልካሙን የሕይወት ምሥጢር ይግለጽልን:: ከሐዋርያውም በረከቱን ያድለን:: ††† ጳጉሜን 2 ቀን የሚከበሩ ዓመታዊ የቅዱሳን በዓላት 1.ቅዱስ ቲቶ ሐዋርያ (ከሰባ ሁለቱ አርድእት) ††† ወርኀዊ በዓላት (የለም) ††† "የእግዚአብሔር ባሪያና የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ሐዋርያ የሆነ ጳውሎስ. . . መድኃኒታችን እግዚአብሔር እንዳዘዘ: ለእኔ አደራ በተሰጠኝ ስብከት ቃሉን ገለጠ: በሃይማኖት ኅብረት እውነተኛ ለሚሆን ልጄ ቲቶ:: ከእግዚአብሔርም አብ: ከመድኃኒታችንም ከጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋና ምሕረት: ሰላምም ይሁን::" ††† (ቲቶ. ፩፥፩) ††† ወስብሐት ለእግዚአብሔር ወለወላዲቱ ድንግል ወለመስቀሉ ክቡር አሜን†††

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, ONE GOD. AMEN. On this day died Saint Titus the apostle, unto whom Paul the apostle wrote one of his Epistles. The birthplace of this saint was the city of Wartes, and he was the son of the sister of the governor of the city, and his kinsfolk were Greeks. And from his childhood he studied the learning of the Greeks, and he was exceedingly wise in his understanding, and sincere in his disposition, and his acts were good, and he loved the poor and needy. And one night he saw [a vision] and it seemed as if one said unto him, “Fight, O Titus, for the salvation of thy soul, for this world is unprofitable unto thee”; and when he awoke from his dream he was frightened and did not know what to do. Now the story of our Lord Jesus Christ had been preached abroad and it was heard of in the city of, and the people thereof talked among themselves about His doctrine and about His miracles. And when the governor of the city, whose name was ‘Akrates, heard of this miracle he marveled exceedingly, and he wished to know with certainty if the story which he had heard about the Lord and His miracles were true. And he sought out a wise and understanding man whom he could send to the city of Jerusalem to verify the story of our Lord, and to put His miracles to the test, and to find out whether He was a being from the infernal regions, or whether He was a magician, or whether He was truly God; and he chose Titus to send, for he found no one better than he, and he sent him and commanded him to search into these matters with very great care and attention. And when Titus came to the land of Judah, and saw the miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ, and His marvelous deeds, and heard the Lifegiving words of our Lord, he distinguished between the words and miracles of our Lord, and the words and deeds of the Greeks; and he found a great difference between them, and he knew that the faith of the Greeks was as nothing. Then he believed on our Lord Jesus Christ and followed Him. And he sent to the governor, his mother’s brother, and informed him of what he had seen and heard of the signs and wonders of our Lord Jesus Christ. And when our Lord chose His Twelve Disciples, He chose this Saint Titus to be of their number. And after the Ascension of our Lord the grace of the Holy Spirit Paraclete descended upon him, as upon the Apostles, in the upper chamber of Zion; and he went with the Apostles into the preaching. And when our Lord chose Paul the apostle, this Saint Titus followed him, and went with him into many cities. And after Paul the apostle became a martyr in the city of Rome, this saint returned to his native city of ‘Ekertes, and built a church therein; and he appointed priests and deacons over the cities which were round about. And having finished his apostolic fight he departed to God, Whom he loved. Salutation to Titus. Glory be to God Who is glorified in His Saints. Amen.
